Promotedesign.it, in partnership with Clappet.com and Skorpion Engineering, presents the contest “Design For Pet” related with the design of accessories addressed to pets, in particular to dogs and cats.
Promote Design is born with the goal of promoting the work of designers in a comprehensive and democratic fashion, with the mission of developing interactions for concrete possibilities of realization. The network is nowadays a vehicle that provides an immediate feedback, in fact, after only a few months of going online, Promote Design has seen the number of subscribers grow exponentially.
Promote Design is visited by more than 75.000 users every month, with a total of 360.000 page views; using different communication channels, it’s not just a web portal anymore, but rather an important network that offers a wide range of services to the whole of the creative world.
Clappet.com is the new e-commerce site, that was born to fulfil the need of dogs and cats. Its object is to offer only high quality products, that respect the animal world, combining design, functionality and comfort. On the Clappet.com page, you can buy accessories, clothing, pet food, as well as a large scale of products, especially selected to guarantee them an excellent everyday lifestyle.
Thanks to the steady efforts of its highly qualified team and thanks to its modular and flexible system Skorpion Engineering always succeeds in adapting to the requirements and deadlines of each customer. Stereo lithography, sintering, FDM and Objet are the 3D printing technologies we daily use to meet the most demanding needs. >>> Description – Competition theme
The theme of the contest contemplates the design of accessories, with a particular attention towards dogs and cats.
Creators are requested to analyze the behavior and food habits of the animals, with the purpose of studying new molds and types of accessories, oriented to develop their comfort and wealth. The participation is free and open to both Italian and international designers that have reached 18 years of age; it is possible to participate as a group of designers if represented by a group leader that will act as sole responsible and reference person. It is also possible to present more than one idea.

In order to participate in the competition “Design For Pet” it is necessary to register on Promodesign.it and follow the online instructions to submit the designs. Each participant needs to produce high-quality images that best portray the object as well as accompany each project with a descriptive text that is no longer than 1000 characters (including spaces). Designers can submit their ideas from February 1st 2015 until midnight, March 15th 2015.

3. Once you've subscribed click on UPLOAD PROJECTS (the button on the left fo your personal page, in thePromote Design's box).
4. Upload your files through the pop-up window after clicking on Ulpoad Projects.
>>> Design specifications
There are no limits as for the type of project, provided it has to be realized by the means of a 3D printer, and with a maximum space of 2000x1000x1000 mm.
The technologies that can be used to realize the prototype are:
. Stereo lithography, transparent or metal finish or painting in optional color
. Sintering, that can be optionally painted
. FDM with ASA material, that is really so fine and clear and, also in this case, can be optionally painted
. Objet, with which we can realize flexible co-printed elements, in rubber or rigid material.
. Laser cut, with which you can realize various elements, also decorations in Plexiglas or wood.
. Milling in various plastic materials, that can be painted or metal plated (to be used for great and voluminous elements).
>>> Deadline
All projects must be uploaded to Promotedesign.it before the midnight of March 15th. Promote Design will communicate the winners within March 20th 2015. The winners have to supply, in 7 days, the 3D files of the project.
>>> Awards
The first three classified will be prototyped by the means of 3Dprinter, and exhibited at the next Fuorisalone (April 14-19th 2015) during the event Din-Design In, organized in the strategic area of via Massimiano, 6 – via Sbodio, 9 in the Lambrate district. A formal contract will also establish the reward of royalties on the commercialization of the products of the designers, that will be included in the catalogue of Clappet.com.
>>> Notes
The participants declare that the published projects are of their exclusive creation and authorship, that they’re the sole responsible of the submitted material and therefore indemnifies the organization of any eventual violation to the industrial or intellectual property of a third party determined by the content submitted by the participant to the organization. The evaluating committee, when/if considering the quality of the received ideas insufficient, reserves the right to not award the prizes and/or not select the ideas for the public event and/or production.
