The cat carrier for small animals, has become a common object for those who live with a small four-legged friend. The idea to borrow the wheel of a bicycle as an aesthetic element and structural, was two young students of design (Marta Andreoni and Valentina Bolis), that a spirit of initiative presented to the company Primenove Srl, a prototype rather primitive in forms, but which already contained some valid ideas for work. My task was to refine the shapes, while maintaining the basic concepts and engineered, to make it feasible. My idea of the project, provides a kennel totally dismantled and reassembled in a few steps, to allow their use when necessary and be stored in small spaces when not needed. E 'consists of a base, a kind of basket that carries in itself the elements of insert and anchor the superstructure composed of two "circles" clearly inspired cilistica with its rays and the "grid" chromed steel, broken down into two elements one hinged and one fixed, which consolidates the superstructure of circles and grid to be fixed to the basket by hooks or clips snap. The fixed section of the grid encompasses the handle, unique in its kind because it consists conceptually into two concentric semi sefere (joined together by a knob aesthetic, and material that changes color depending on the version) that allow the handle to rotate on the axis z confer during transport an adjustment ergonomic personalized. The open system of the grid, a new concept for the transport of small pets, not only provides a constant visual contact with the animal who benefits from it, feeling safer. The base or basket, in its central area is suitably lightened with a mesh honeycomb, to allow not only the lightening of the element with the consequent economy of material, but useful for the transpiration of the cushion placed on the inside, in fireproof material and water repellent in the upper part in contact with the animal and breathable at the bottom. I thought of carrying two versions, a Luxury which consists of a coating in various skin types of the base and in a co-molded rim, using a rubberized surface at the contacts and impact surfaces of the metal grid and plastic glossy white for the remaining part. A Standard that essentially uses opaque plastic with embossed finish in different colors for the basket and glossy white for the circles.
