The Ghigos ideas studio invites an urban planner and a landscape architect to design together a "city of objects" which, step by step, will tempt you with delicacies! A city of objects, a landscape "at hand": a table that welcomes as elevations some iconic monument-objects (or are they miniature buildings?). In a continuous interplay between different scales and cross-references between architecture and design, between urban and domestic, the layout of the plane is mixed up with a large architectural model. Once again, lightly and hybridizing the parts, we are moving "from the spoon to the city" ... because, here, " the spoon IS the city! " Looking at a table to find it "urbanized" ... See a saltshaker and discover it "inhabited" ... Our eyes give value to things, but a screen acting as a filter is enough, to take us beyond the usual. The point of view is what changes reality and makes us experience a surreal walk through objects, which lose their purely functional value and discover themselves as "something else": they are parts of an apparently paradoxical world, and become casket of our emotions . We can therefore find ourselves climbing a cutting board, looking at a pitcher while waiting for its sudden eruption, or ready to jump into a tray in which, fortunately, the water will never be too high ... Not yet consumers, not just owners, we find ourselves custodians of simulacra that define a new urban skyline. From the wine corner to the forest of taste, from the alley of spices to the field of flavour, here we rediscover the traditional zoning as a culinary matrix suiting the most diverse urban flavours... the toponymy becomes narrative. Symbol and metaphor. In between, the Stuzzicanti (Appetizings) invade the table and, like a miniature forest, they define the skyline, and in the forest’s clearings dishes stand out as houses, pots simulate squares or pepper mills appear like contemporary skyscrapers with faceted plans. From the coffee maker that "puffs" to the Castello à la carte (Card Castle) for a snack in equilibrium, from the cutting board that steals the tears from the "anti-drip" ice cream cone, up to the glasses that measure the "fever of wine" and the cheese chunk to be climbed, we will display a collection that revolves around the theme of food, always offering a lateral point of view on the objects, looking for the design gap that allows us to re-codify, uses, symbols, meanings and rituals.
