Lightson L16 chair by Sanaa

A combination of comfort and high refinement, combined with an accurate manufacturing.

Thanks to LightsOn, this is no longer a dream. With the L16 chair, created in collaboration with one of the most important international architectural firm, STUDIO SANAA by 2010 Pritzker Award winner architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa. The brand presented L16 to the public in 2016, on the occasion of W.Women in Design Exhibition at Triennale di Milano.

Made with a team of technical textiles producers, experts of quilting and padding, tailors and seamstresses, upholster and prototype developers, L16 is a combination of comfort and high refinement, combined with an accurate manufacturing. The result is a unique object, an expression of the extreme attention to details that starts from the matter and expresses in the design, begins from the inside and shows in the shape.

The upholstery made of technical material and worked with lightweight swellings and a very delicate texture, covers a comfortable padding put on a metal structure, closed with a magnetic coupling. The thin and sturdy lathed legs made of solid ash are available in three different finishes.

The idea of presenting L16 in the exhibition organized at the Triennale di Milano was an opportunity for LightsOn to make itself known on a very important occasion, showing a product that best expresses the soul of the brand, revealing the close relationship with the world of international design of which the SANAA represents excellence for its innovation-oriented visions.

Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa knew each other at Toyo Ito Studio, for which they both worked, before creating the Studio SANAA - Sejima and Nishizawa and Associated - in 1995, quickly establishing itself as one of the most important and cutting-edge realities of the industry. The two architects propose an aesthetic vision that is expressed through clean, minimal and essential shapes of great impact. Among their most important projects, stand out the Rolex Learning Center in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Glass Pavilion of the Museum of Art in Toledo, Ohio; the New Museum in New York; the Serpentine Pavilion in London.
