The overbuilding and pruning of trees have put in trouble many species of birds which, as well as drastically away it from the cities, are becoming more hard to feed themselves and to find the right place to nest. Even the sparrow was included in the list of threatened species of birds and this is a tangible sign of urban decay that we arrived.
To try to give tangible support to our little friends we could lend a piece of railing of our balconies to hang a small house and provide shelter and a possible nesting site.
CIP is a self-produced project: it's made of 12mm thick marine plywood Okoume, weather resistant and able to protect from the cold, fits using the joints of the pieces without adding glues or nails.
The project includes two different fronts: one with a circular hole of 32 mm diameter suitable for species such as willow tit, blue tit, great tit, redstart etc.. one open and suitable for species such as robins, white wagtail etc..
Holes are provided in the base to allow the drainage of water and an inner groove in the front piece to facilitate the escape of hatchlings.
For those who wish to enter a camera to photograph or film what happens inside the nest are provide two holes for the cable.
The handle it's designed to be hung on rails up to 60 mm wide, any special pieces can be custom made.
Once assembled just hanging on the railing of our balcony and wait until it is used.
