MIRIAM ROSSIGNOLI

I have always been creative and passionate about art. Through the years I built a strong conscience for ecological and social issues and I wish to develop a career in design for sustainability. I lived in Italy, surrounded by nature till I was 20, when I turned 21 years old I decided to move to the Netherlands. There I experimented modern art education at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam than I move to Eindhoven in order to study Design at the Design Academy. The Dutch didactic approach is so distant to the Italian one that I had to bring into question all I learnt before. I had to open my mind to new information, mentality and opinions. During these 4 years time my choice was to end up my studies in Milan in order to have a combination of the two different methods: the Dutch one, practical, experimental, creative and based on real model and the Italian one, theoretical, aesthetic, focused on the shape. Nowadays I’m deepening methodologies related to the sustainable Design field and the application of the Life Cycle Assessment and the Life Cycle Design. This is a good opportunity to strength my skills on design product’s and service’s environmental impact. Something extremely relevant to me is the integration of these solutions into my project. In my opinion learning is a never ending process and I understood during this period of time that enjoying my work is extremely important to achieve relevant results.
