Maurizio Bradaschia (Trieste, 1962) graduates in Architecture at IUAV in 1987. He gets the Research Fellowship at the University of "La Sapienza" in Rome. He is associated professor in Trieste, where he teaches "Architectural Design" at the Faculty of Engineering and "Technical Architecture" at the Faculty of Architecture. He has held workshops and conventions at Columbia University in the City of New York, the Faculty of Architecture of Las Palmas in Gran Canary, the Faculty of Architecture of Obafemi Awolowo University of Ile Ife in Nigeria and in the main Italian Universities; researcher in the Settlement Upgrading Programme (SUP), United Nations Centre for Human Settlement (Habitat), Informal Settlement Upgrading in the city of Ibadan (Nigeria); he was member of the Italian transnational working team in the Vision Planet (EU Interreg IIC) project for the Mid-European, Danubian and Adriatic area spatial development. Maurizio Bradaschia has been a member of the technical round table TEM (Trans European Motorway – ECE-UN). He is founder and Manager of the international magazine of Architecture, Art, Communication and Design Il Progetto. He is the author of more than a hundred and fifty scientific publications. He has written for Domus, ab, Il Giornale dell'Architettura, Il Progetto, d'Architettura, Neoclassico, Hiše, Muse Magazine, Count Down , L'ARSENALE delle idee, magazine of Economics, Politics and Culture, Bealux, Compasses; collaborator at Enciclopedia Italiana Giovanni Treccani, where he has written the biographical subject-headings Michael Graves and Gustav Peichl in the Appendice 2000 and the subject-heading "La Comunicazione dell'Architettura" in the work III Millennio, 2009; his projects have been published on Architécti, ab, Architekt, Area, d'A, Il Giornale dell'Architettura, Costruire, Il Progetto, Anfione e Zeto, l'Architettura, Cronache e Storia, World Architectural Review, Paesaggio Urbano, Architetti, Juliet, Hise, Escala, Oris, Bealux, Case & Stili, The Home, Quaderni del Territorio. He has been a member of manifold juries of national and international architectural competitions. He was one of the 65 architects invited to the Exhibition "From futurism to a possible future in Italian architecture" on the occasion of exhibitions for Italy in Japan 2001. He took part at the 7th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennial, "La sperimentazione del nuovo, giovani architetti italiani: un incontro sulla condizione contemporanea". He was the protagonist in organizing Next Cities, in the Venice Biennial 2002 directed by Deyan Sudjic, bringing the projects for the waterfront of Trieste, as Urban Planning Councillor. He was co-planner of the Master Plan for Trieste Expo 2008, project which was displayed at the 9th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennial, Metamorph (2004); he is among the Italian architects published in the catalogue of the Italian Pavilion of the 10th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennial (2006), he was invited among the International architects in the Hungarian Pavilion at the 12th Venice Architecture Biennial 2010. Maurizio Bradaschia was a member of the selection consultant group for the gold medal for Italian architecture within the XX International Expo of the Triennial of Milan (2002/2003, 2005/2006, 2008/2009). He was the advisor for the In/Arch-Ance Prize in 2005 and 2006. He has been Urban Planning Councillor of the Town Council of Trieste.
