Barbara Balassone, born in Pesaro the 22 of January 1970, graduated from the F. Mengaroni Institute of Art in Pesaro and received her Architecture degree from the University of Architecture Institute of Venice (I.U.A.V.) in 1996, under the thesis supervision of Prof. Adriano Cornoldi for “Moulding:Istructions for its use”.

After her degree (1997), she attended the doctorate research program with ERASMUS in San Sebastian (Spain) where together with a group of Architect students from around Europe, she lead a redevelopment project of the Pasaja bay, that was placed second in the ranking amongst diverse proposed projects.

Since 1997, Architect Studio was founded, she has developed freelance projects concerned mainly with architectural and interior designs as well as urban planning. She is also registered with the Pesaro and Urbino Architecture Order, number 328.

Between 1998 and 2002, Barbara gave consulting services for the Urban Sector of the City of Pesaro; in particular between 1998-2002 for Private Construction Services: an activity that controls and verifies construction practices.

From 2001-2002 she also worked for Urban Planning Services and PRG (General Planning Regulations), designing detailed Urban planification.

In 2005, thanks to the meeting and friendship with Franco Barbieri; an artist from Pesaro, she re-kindled her path as a painter. She has participated in numerous painting exhibitions and has been acknowledged by critics and art dealers with notable interest and ample approval.

Since 2009, she has deepened her knowledge of design, participating in various international competitions in which she has developed ideas mainly for the creation of chairs, tables, benches and other relating furniture pieces.

Description	The physical recovery of the building discharged by the ex Fornace Mancini, and of the relative area of pertinance and the completion of an area already utilized in part by traditional handcrafted activities. The project foresaw the use of the area for various traditional and residential activity, as well as the realization of a public parking lot with a complementary green area alongside it. The recovery of the area surrounding the ex fornace through environmental redevelopment for public use (manufacturing included), has represented the connection between the different neighbourhoods and the countryside.
